Merbau is a class 2 hardwood that is resistant to rotting and insect attack and consequently, with a low level of maintenance you can expect at least 25 years of service from your Merbau screen fence. Furthermore, the excellent strength and stability characteristics of this timber is perfectly suited to outdoor privacy screens.

As with most of our wooden screens, taking some preventative measures early on, such as oiling or sealing, can enhance the appearance of the wood and significantly add to its longevity. But if even that minimal amount of work is a hindrance to you, we can offer our recycled composite screens, constructed from sawdust and plastic, that require absolutely no maintenance whatsoever – and yet still look fabulous!
